Print notes for students in PowerPoint

Phil Matlock

If you are using Microsoft PowerPoint in your classes and would like to print notes for a student that may have missed a class or e-mail them to the entire class you can do the following:

  1. open the presentation

  2. click File on the main menu

  3. click “Send To”

  4. click “Microsoft Office Word”. A new screen will appear “Microsoft Office Word” with options;

  5. from this list of options you can select the one that meets your requirements. I like the “outline only” option. If you click this option it will send it to Microsoft Word; you can edit it at this point and save as a word document, html or any format you like.

  6. You can print this for the student that missed class, e-mail to any student that requested notes or to the entire class.

  7. I use this technique to upload and post notes on a class page.
    This is just one of the many advantages to using Microsoft PowerPoint as a teaching tool.
