Create reoccurring appointments
Meredeth McCoy
Are you starting to use Outlook to
organize your days? Using recurring appointments can be a one-time
setup instead of typing in separate appointments.
For example:
At the beginning of the semester, you can put in your class and/or
office hour schedule for the rest of the semester.
When in your Outlook calendar:
-
Click NEW APPOINTMENT
-
Under SUBJECT, type your class
name (CHEM 1110)
-
Under LOCATION, type the room
(Warf 204)
-
Under START TIME, type the
first day the class meets (5/27/2008) and time (7:30a.m.)
-
Under END TIME, type the first
day’s date again (5/27/2008) and ending time (9:50a.m.)
-
At the top of the appointment,
click RECURRENCE
-
Choose how many times the
appointment repeats (every 1 week, every 2 weeks, etc)
-
Click the days of the week the
class meets (summer meets MTWR, so click each one of those
days)
-
Under RANGE OF RECURRENCE
choose when the class ends:
-
No End Date (if this is
something that occurs the same way forever); or
-
End After _ days (if the
class only meets an exact number of times like 8); or
-
End by (choose the date
the class ends, i.e. 6/30/2008)
Then SAVE. You are finished!
If you want to get really fancy, click INVITE ATTENDEES and choose
student names in the Global Address book to invite them to class.
The students are sent an email and are asked for confirmation. There
are steps for that in a previous FTM Tech Tip.
