Internet Explorer's Find Feature

By Mandy Carter-Lowe

I would like to share with you a tip I learned while taking my core technology competencies through FITT. I went into the classes not expecting to learn all that much new information. I came out of the classes excited to use all the shortcuts Glenna showed us. One of my favorites was the “Find” function in Internet Explorer. Have you ever been trying to find something on a web page that has a great deal of text? Rather than reading the whole document you can save time by doing this:

  1. Click Edit in the drop down toolbar (usually at the top left of your page).

  2. Select Find (on this page).

  3. A new dialogue box appears. Type in your search words and click Find Next.

  4. The word you are searching will be highlighted on the page.

Look for more of these tips each week brought to you by the Faculty Technology Mentors.
